Solabia strengthens its position in the diagnostic market in Brazil with the acquisition of Plastlabor

Based in Rio de Janeiro, Plastlabor has about 170 employees and is a strong player in the Brazilian diagnostic market offering a wide range of products and solutions (including media culture and detection kits) to an extensive customer portfolio in the clinical, pharmaceutical and food markets.

Solabia is a worldwide recognized player in the diagnostic market with a presence in Brazil through its local subsidiary, Laborclin. By combining Plastlabor with Laborclin, Solabia has the ambition to create a leading player on the Latin American market. Companies have complementary product and customer portfolios, as well as matching skills and operational capabilities. The combined entity will be able to serve better its customers, with a broader range of products covering various needs in diagnostic testing. It will benefit from stronger R&D capabilities, including the skills and capabilities of Solabia Biokar, as well as more robust manufacturing footprint and operations.
